How to turn a product photo into a video
A sharp shot of one product on a clean background, no people in frame. In the Studio you can add up to 4 photos from different angles.
Podium turn, close-up details, lifestyle scene or splash effect — the prompt fills in, then adjust the bracketed parts to your product.
In the Studio, switch to 9:16 for a vertical clip — it defaults to 16:9. Pick 2 to 12 seconds, 480p for drafts or 720p and 1080p for upload, then hit Send.
Download the MP4, crop it to your store's frame if needed and upload it to the product media on Shopify, Amazon or Etsy.

Turning a product photo into a video with AI gives the images you already have motion: a bottle catching the light as it turns, the weave of a fabric up close, a mug on a sunny kitchen table. This AI product video generator adds video to a Shopify product page or an Amazon or Etsy listing without a shoot. Prepare the source shot with AI product photography, write the copy with the Amazon listing generator, and cut social clips with the TikTok video generator. Other formats are in the AI video generator and Animate a photo.
Which product videos work on a listing
Shoppers scroll fast, so a listing video should answer one question in a couple of seconds. Does the bottle shine? A slow turn on a podium. What does the leather feel like? A push-in on the grain. How does it look at home? A lifestyle scene in morning light. What's in the set? Every item laid out on one table. For holiday sales, a seasonal set with festive props does the job. One action per clip is far more reliable than a mini-story and keeps the product on screen. To close with your brand, add a short logo animation as an end card.
Preparing the photo: angles, background, no people
The best source is a sharp shot of a single product on a clean background, evenly lit, with no glare on the label. If you only have a front view, don't ask for a full 360° spin — the model would have to invent the back; ask for a partial turn instead. You can attach up to four angles in the Studio — more angles give the model more to work from. Seedance declines photos of real people, and those credits are refunded, so shoot apparel on a hanger, a mannequin or as a flat lay. A clean backdrop takes one click with background removal.
Format, length and sound for Amazon, Shopify and Etsy
The Studio renders 9:16 or 16:9 clips of 2 to 12 seconds. Keep the product centered with room around it, so you can crop to a square or 4:5 frame later without losing it. Listing videos often autoplay muted, so make sure everything important is visible on screen and switch audio off when you don’t need it. Etsy and Amazon set their own length, sound and eligibility rules for listing videos — check Etsy Seller Help or Seller Central before uploading. On Shopify you add the MP4 to the product’s media. Trim with video trimming and shrink heavy files with video compression.

How does turning a product photo into a video work?
You upload a product photo and describe the motion, or pick a ready shot. Seedance uses the photo as a reference and adds camera movement, light and a setting, returning an MP4 clip of 2 to 12 seconds. Check shape, color and label in the finished clip.
Can I make an Amazon product video with AI?
Yes. Pick a shot, generate the clip in 16:9 or 9:16 and download the MP4. Before you upload, make sure your Seller Central account can add listing videos and that the clip matches the real product.
Can I use photos with models or people?
No. Seedance declines photos of real people under the model provider's rules, and the credits for that attempt are refunded. Shoot apparel on a hanger, a mannequin or as a flat lay, and never upload photos of children.
What format and length should I pick?
The Studio offers 9:16 and 16:9 and lengths from 2 to 12 seconds; it defaults to 16:9, so switch to 9:16 for vertical. Go vertical for mobile shoppers and social, horizontal for desktop product pages, and check each platform's video specs.
Will the logo and label stay readable?
The model tries to keep shape and color, but it can change small details, and small lettering can warp in motion. Keep camera moves gentle, check the label in the finished clip, and add text or badges on top in a video editor.
Should the video have sound?
Audio is on by default, but listing videos often autoplay muted, so make sure everything important is visible on screen. Switch audio off in the Studio when you don’t need it, and check each marketplace’s video rules before uploading.
How much does it cost?
New users get free starter credits to try the Studio. Video uses far more credits than images: starter credits cover at most a short draft, and a full clip needs a trial day or a plan. The Studio shows the exact credit cost before you send.
What if a generation fails?
If a clip doesn't start, breaks during rendering or the photo is declined, the credits come back automatically. Every new variant is a separate generation, so test your prompt as a 480p draft first.
Can I use the clips in ads?
Clips download as MP4 files with no visible watermark, so they work on product pages, in social posts and in ad creatives. Keep them true to the real product — color, shape and contents — so buyers get what they saw.
