Part of the Zerocoder platform

One tool of a platform where AI generates websites, images, video, text and documents — under one subscription.

Sites serve images as WebP to save bandwidth — then the file bounces off an upload form, won't open in an older editor and confuses the print shop. The converter turns WebP into universal JPG in a second on Zerocoder's servers: free, watermark-free, nothing stored. Need transparency — convert to PNG; smaller output — compress image. All the free tools live in one section.

Why images download as WebP

WebP is a browser-era compression format: at equal quality the file is about a third lighter than JPG, so sites serve it en masse. Great in the browser — but the ecosystem beyond the web lags: older editors, office suites, document upload forms and photo printing often accept only JPG or PNG.

WebP won't open: the fastest fix

Installing codecs or a new editor for one file is overkill. Re-encoding the file is faster: upload, click, download a JPG. Encoding runs at quality 92 — visually lossless. Batches convert one at a time; after free sign-in the limit is 5 runs a day.

Where WebP transparency goes

WebP can store transparency, JPG can't: transparent areas get filled with white. For logos and stickers that's usually wrong — they belong in PNG, which keeps the alpha channel. And if you need to create transparency rather than keep it, that's background removal.

Sites serve WebP to save bandwidth. Browsers show it; editors and upload forms — not always.

Is quality lost?

Re-encoding runs at quality 92 — the difference is invisible.

What about transparency?

JPG doesn't support it — transparent areas become white. Need transparency? Convert to PNG.

Not yet — demand for the reverse is far smaller. Tell us if you need it.

What else does Zerocoder do?

AI image and text generation, courses, jobs — the converter is one small free utility.
