What resolution is the frame?
The still is saved at the video's native resolution: a 4K clip yields a 4K frame, an HD clip an HD one. The tool applies no extra downscaling of its own.
How do I find the second?
Open the video in a player and pause at the right moment — the timecode is your answer. Enter that second into the tool and it grabs the frame from the video at exactly that point.
What's the output format?
The still comes out as a JPG with minimal compression. It is ready straight away for a YouTube cover, a social media preview or a meme — no further conversion needed.
Can I grab several frames?
One frame per run. Grabbing a frame is a light operation with a limit of 5 runs a day, which comfortably covers a cover image, a preview and a couple of memes.
Do vertical videos work?
Yes — the frame keeps the source orientation and resolution. Vertical clips made for Instagram or YouTube Shorts produce a vertical JPG with no cropping or distortion.
Do I need an account?
Your first still needs no account. After that we ask for a free sign-up: signed-in users can grab a frame from a video up to 5 times a day, like with other light tools.
What happens to my files?
Videos are not stored: processing runs in temporary files deleted right after the result is delivered. The clip and the extracted frame stay only with you.
The frame came out blurry — now what?
Try a neighbouring second: blur belongs to motion frames, not to the tool. For extra sharpness, run the finished JPG through the neighbouring “Enhance image” tool.
